LANCO goes double PLATINUM
Thursday, September 20, 2018
– LANCO has gone double PLATINUM with its hit "Greatest Love Story," signifying sales of 2 million.
Right after LANCO performed the chart-topper before lead singer and the track's sole-writer Brandon Lancaster was honored with the "Songwriter/Artist of the Year" award at the Nashville Songwriters' Awards event on Wednesday, the band learned of its honor from Sony Music Nashville officials.
"Looking back on this year and thinking of how many doors 'Greatest Love Story' has opened for the band blows my mind. This is a song we all believed in since day one and night after night we continue to see how it resonates with more and more people," said Lancaster. "2018 has proved that five guys can go from jamming in a warehouse to actually living out this wild dream. It just validates that we are on the right path and we can't thank our fans enough for riding out this journey with us. It feels like it's just the beginning."
The song is on the band's "Hallelujah Nights" debut. The song has received more than 423 million streams.
The group is out now with the single "Born To Love You."
LANCO will headline a tour for the first time on the Hallelujah Nights Tour starting in Columbia, Mo. at The Blue Note on Oct. 24.

CD reviews for LANCO
LANCO's "Greatest Love Story" is a radio single saturated in undeniable warmth and sweetness. But then, the attitude in "We Do" reeks of Florida Georgia Line and the chorus to "Singin' at The Stars" also brings country music's most annoying duo to mind. LANCO is a new act, and the jury's still on just which direction this five-piece will go. Will this group follow Midland as another truly legitimate country music collective, or could they follow »»»
Editorial: Walking the talk
When names like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Waylon and the Hag are invoked, you're talking hard core country. These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: Combs, Gill, Harris, Crow comprise one final musical platter
Vince Gill played host to an entertaining guitar pull, a show which also featured his longtime friend, Emmylou Harris, slightly newer friend Sheryl Crow and brand-new friend Luke Combs.
Gill joked from the outset that this All for the Hall fundraising show needed Combs to sell tickets, and by the audience's response, it was clear many came only to see Combs.... »»»
Concert Review: Stapleton shows his traditional roots
Chris Stapleton's All-American Road show feels like a singular mission to rid the genre of the bro country scourge that has plagued it for years. He came out with a blazing one-two punch of "Second One To Know" and "Without Your Love" and packed a stadium sized onslaught into a 9,000-seat arena. He never once veered from his... »»»

For a brief moment last summer, the news of Tony Kinman's death was, if not greatly exaggerated, then at least fortuitously premature.
