Melanie Torres off Nashville Star

Wednesday, April 5, 2006 – Melanie Torres will not be this year's Nashville Star. That was the verdict from Tuesday's episode of the singing contest where the winner gets a recording contract. As a result, six contestants remain: Matt Mason, Jared Ashley, Chris Young, Nicole Jamrose, Kristen McNamara, Casey Rivers. Previously eliminated were Shy Blakeman and Monique LeCompte. The show continues next Tuesday.

Concert Review: Outlaw lives up to his name – If you're a country singer, and you use the name Outlaw as your last name, well, you'd better back it up. Los Angeles-based traditional honky tonker Sam Outlaw set the record straight, though, saying he was "going to confront it head on."
