Melanie Torres off Nashville Star

Wednesday, April 5, 2006 – Melanie Torres will not be this year's Nashville Star. That was the verdict from Tuesday's episode of the singing contest where the winner gets a recording contract. As a result, six contestants remain: Matt Mason, Jared Ashley, Chris Young, Nicole Jamrose, Kristen McNamara, Casey Rivers. Previously eliminated were Shy Blakeman and Monique LeCompte. The show continues next Tuesday.

Concert Review: Lane oversees her queendom – When Nikki Lane rolled into town on her current Stagecoach Spotlight Tour, she and her touring mates were under the weather. Although illness didn't keep Lane performing (she was in fine voice throughout), Robert Ellis was a last-minute scratch.
