WSM, gotradio join Americana radio panel

Thursday, February 26, 2009 – Nashville's WSM will formally be added to the Americana Music Radio Panel on March 2, the Americana Music Association announced today. Internet radio's gotradio.com has joined the panel as well.

650AM WSM has provided Nashville and 38 states with radio programming for many decades. WSM will prominently feature Americana music in both 650AM and wsmonline's daily programming. The station averages about 250,000 online listeners monthly, according to the association.

GotRadio offers around-the-clock Americana programming.

Compiled from the charts of approximately 70 stations across the U.S., the Americana Airplay Chart is published in R&R Magazine in the U.S. and Country Music People in the UK. Amazon.com features the Americana Airplay Top Ten on their music site as well. WSM and gotradio.com now will be included in determining the chart.

White embraces "The Hurting Kind" John Paul White, to paraphrase a Steve Earle song, may just be one of the last of the hardcore troubadours. By 'troubadour,' we mean one of those guys that lives to write great songs - more specifically, great country songs - and then get these songs into the ears of folks that... »»»
