itunes international

Mike Sudhalter  |  October 25, 2007

I was sitting on my computer and wondering why the prices for all of the itunes albums had doubled and why the online music store added lots of Australian-based acts. I was sad about the former and happy about the latter. I figured the increased prices were a sign of the times, a la astronomically-high gas prices.

Until I realized, I had my settings on the Australian store. For those of you unfamiliar with itunes, you can view the online music stores of various countries and listen to song clips, but unless you have an account set up in that country, you can't purchase music from there. That seems kind of silly because in this global market, why shouldn't I be able to purchase digital music from Australia, Canada or Europe?

Anyways, I realized that I was on the Australian store (Give me a break, it's 2 a.m. here) and saw that the U.S. prices for itunes albums hadn't increased whatsover.
