Intro mixes

At Thursday's George Strait concert Thursday night in Sacramento, Sarah Johns' 25-minute set was preceded by a mix of classic country songs. I've heard many other artists have an audio mix of different songs together, most of the time they're songs of other artists. I think it's kind of a neat intro into a concert.
Speaking of Strait, a friend told me that he wouldn't kiss his female counterpart in Pure Country, the 1992 movie about a country singer. I never noticed it, but give Strait credit for his extreme-faithfulness.
Has anyone watched that show Gone Country? I have seen bits and pieces of it. Artists from other genres and actors - Bobby Brown, Dee Snider, Sisqo, Maureen McCormick - try to become country singers under the direction of John Rich. So basically, pop artists are looking to become pop artists who refer to themselves as country. I wouldn't put too much stock into this show. Rich isn't a credit to country music, and he has no idea how to show these folks how to be real country singers.
