Rocks in Your Shoes

Mike Sudhalter  |  April 29, 2008

There's a song by new artist, Emily West that I really enjoy. It's called "Rocks In Your Shoes", and it's all about overcoming challenges. I like West's take-charge attitude. It stands into sharp contrast to old, cryin-in-your-beer' country songs. It's upbeat and pro-active. I get inspired just listening to it.

Hopefully, West will be headed to the top of the charts.

I wonder what people think of Lady Antebellum? Songwriter Hillary Scott, a third of the duo, has a beautiful voice and she's the daughter of Linda Davis. Based on this group's initial sales, I think they have a great future in the genre. My favorite song on their self-titled album is the sentimental, "Home Is Where The Heart Is."
