I'm shocked

I remember listening to a Jeff Foxworthy comedy bit, where he said "I love 'em, but those fishing shows aren't helping our image, any."

On Saturday, I had a moment that reminded me of Foxworthy's commentary 13 years ago. I was watching television at a friend's house, a fellow who doesn't listen to country music.

And guess what was on CMT?

Mobile Home Disaster. That's right. It's a home makeover show featuring mobile homes. It's just shocking to me that image-conscience CMT would have a program that emphasizes a stereotype about country music listeners.

It seems with recent programming, that the channel is promoting "hillbilly" stereotypes, rather than trying to counter, or at least temper, them.
