Hurricane help

Mike Sudhalter  |  September 24, 2008

I was happy to see that several members of the Texas Music community are going to be helping with the Hurricane Ike relief.

Galleywinter is holding a benefit show at the famous George's Bar in beautiful Waco, TX on Sunday, Oct. 5. Artists on the ball include Jason Eady, Owen Temple, Drew Kennedy, Bo Cox, Modern Day Drifters, Lost Immigrants, Britni Hoover, Bob Cheevers, Kimberly Kelly and Scott Matthews. The show begins at 2 p.m.

Radio Free Texas was planning on holding a floating trip down the Guadalupe River. Instead, the site is organizing people on the weekend of Oct.3-5 to help those severely affected by the storm in the Orange area, near the Louisiana-Texas state line. If anyone's interested, they can e-mail cmiller@radiofreetexas.org.

I've only been in Texas for a little over a month, but the people are amazing. And it's great to see Texans helping Texans!
