A Good Laugh

Mike Sudhalter  |  February 5, 2009

I was listening to radio stations on itunes and I clicked on Classic Country. Probably some George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson or Waylon Jennings, right?

Not even close.

I got Lila McCann's "I Wanna Fall In Love" from 1997. I guess it depends what your definition of "classic" is. Compared to Taylor Swift, McCann is a classic.

It's like a local radio station that professes to play classic country and everything is 70's and 80's country - "Lookin' For Love" by Johnny Lee and "Queen of Hearts" by Juice Newton. I was hoping for more Hank Sr. and Johnny Horton.

So, I guess as we approach the 2010s decade, 80's and 90's will take over the playlists of classic country radio.

Man, do I feel old and out of place.
