Country Goes To The Boardroom

Mike Sudhalter  |  February 28, 2009

My friend Cowboy Bleau of Country Music Central recently wrote about Clint Black appearing on the Celebrity Apprentice Two. Last year, Trace Adkins was the runner-up on the show, and he definitely got the attention of folks who (a) had never heard of him, (b) never heard of his music.

How much does this help an artist?

Sure, people will know who they are, but does that mean they're going to be open to listening to their music? Maybe, maybe not. But at least it's opening the door to having more listeners. And that's a better way to appeal to folks in the mainstream, then just crossing over.

According to CB's post, Donald Trump is praising Black's Equity Music Group. He must have chosen the Katy, Texas native before Equity folded last year.

Good luck to the the "Like The Rain" singer on the show. I doubt he'll do as well as the more charismatic Adkins, but hopefully he won't just be "Killin' Time."
