Up To Him

Mike Sudhalter  |  March 17, 2009

Tracy Lawrence now is on his own independent label, Rocky Comfort Records, and he's already had a hit with "Find Out Who Your Friends Are", a collaborative effort with Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney - a pair of buddies from their early 90's days when they were all starting their respective careers.

Lawrence had a solid career but didn't reach the superstar status of McGraw and Chesney, but he may not be done yet.

Lawrence's latest single, "Up To Him", combines two of the great themes of country music - a dedicated work ethic and a belief in God.

He sings about the difficult economic times, talks about being grateful for a job in the face of rumors that his factory may be shut down with the work outsourced overseas.

The chorus says it all, "I work like it's all up to me and pray like it's up to Him." Millions of Americans can relate to this song - because that's really the only true advice you could give to anyone - work hard and pray that everything's going to be alright.

Everything else is out of our hands. Lawrence should have a hit single with this one.
