George Strait -- Artist of the Decade

Mike Sudhalter  |  May 28, 2009

I wanted to watch the George Strait Artist of the Decade concert, but I had something else going on, so I've been catching up on youtube.com, to see the clips of all the artists covering the GS tunes.

It was touching to see Garth Brooks' present Strait with the Artist of the Decade Award. Brooks was the Artist of the Decade in the 1990's.

I enjoyed watching Toby Keith's version of "Unwound" and Alan Jackson's rousing delivery of the "Fireman", Jennifer Nettles' twang on Sugarland's "Adalida" and Taylor Swift's vocals on "Run." John Rich did a good job with "Amarillo by Morning" but skipped the second verse. I wasn't too jazzed about LeAnn Rimes' cover of "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind."

Jamie Foxx's version of "You Look So Good In Love" - one of his personal favorites - was another highlight.

I'd like to see an album of all these songs released. It would sell like hot cakes.

Enjoy Taylor's "absolute" favorite George Strait song"
