Showing Some Love for The Hill Country

Mike Sudhalter  |  July 23, 2010

Trent Willmon sings about the
Texas Hill Country town of Medina

Trent Willmon isn't a very well known country singer - at least not yet.

But one of his best songs, "Medina Daydreaming" is a tribute about Medina, Texas, with an interesting perspective.

He's working at an office in some big city and reminiscing about the times he spent at a lake in one of the most picturesque parts of Texas.

Until you visit the Hill Country, you can't truly appreciate the magic of this song, and that region.

I took a trip there over the July 4 Holiday Weekend with my girlfriend, friends and family and enjoyed tubing in the Guadalupe River.

The final day saw a bunch of us go on a canoeing trip, and that was adventurous, to say the least.

Although New Braunfels isn't Medina, it was still good to experience the Hill Country and have a real idea about the place that Willmon was daydreaming about.
