Red Dirt Thoughts

Mike Sudhalter  |  September 26, 2010

The Cody Gill Band is one of the
Texas Music artists I'd like to see in the near future

It's been way too long since I've been to a Texas Music concert. I've become content to listen to most of the songs on CDs or Radio Free Texas

The Cody Gill Band is one of the up-and-coming bands in Texas Music; I enjoyed listening to their tale of hometown fun/boredom, "Drink Tonight."

At the top of the Texas Music Charts, it's no surprise that Wade Bowen ("Bottle Into Gold") and Cory Morrow ("Lonesome") are No. 1 and No. 2, respectively; both of them have become two of the most consistent artists in the state.

It would be nice to see Pat Green return to his Texas roots and record an album that's similar to his late 1990's/early 2000's stuff. I'm share many of my fellow Texas Music fans share that sentiment.

Here's an issue that most Texas Music fans will be torn upon: the Dallas Cowboys defeating the Houston Texans, 27-13, on Sunday. The Cowboys are obviously the favorite team of most people in the state, but you've got to give the Texans props for having Texas artists like Kevin Fowler and Reckless Kelly perform at Reliant Stadium; Fowler performed during halftime on Monday Night Football in 2008.

Finally, be sure to follow "Country Suds" on Twitter. That is if you follow, Twitter.
