What's New? Wednesdays: Steve Holy's got a brand new album

Mike Sudhalter  |  September 22, 2011

Although he's had some good songs, Steve Holy never really grabbed my attention, over dozens of other artists on the radio.

Until Wednesday.

That's when I heard the Dallas native's "Heart of A Hero," which is a tribute to all types of heroes - from soldiers to firefighters, religious leaders to farmers and teachers and other unsung heroes.

It's a really cool song, and it made me think of a high school lesson I had when our English teacher asked us to describe a hero. This song would have answered her question perfectly.

The name of Holy's new album is "Love Don't Run
.

I enjoyed Holy's "Blue Moon" when he debuted a little over a decade ago. Everyone in country music had totally forgot about him for a few years, until the fun, "Brand New Girlfriend" rejuvenated his career.

Hopefully, "Heart of A Hero" will have a similar impact.

A couple of other interesting notes regarding this album: longtime Holy fans will enjoy the acoustic version of "Good Morning Beautiful" and he covered the country classic, "Help Me Make It Through The Night".
