Let's save Indian Ranch

Mike Sudhalter  |  October 17, 2011

is the New England Capital of Country Music...it's worth saving.

Indian Ranch is a really cool music venue in south-central Massachusetts, on Lake Webster, in Webster, Mass. - near the Connecticut border.

I fell in love with Country Music in 1996, and by the next year, I followed the Boston radio stations' advertisements down the rural highways to the lakeside concert venue.

Wow, what an experience.

Growing up in suburban Boston, I wasn't around rural culture or many people who shared my passion for Country Music.

Sunday drives to Webster were a welcome diversion from my every day routine of working and/or going to school.

I guess you could say, it was my "happy place."

And ironically, I've attended more concerts at Indian Ranch than I do here in Texas - where Country Music is much more prevalent.

I've always wanted to go back to Indian Ranch to take in a show. If for no other reason, but for nostalgia.

But thanks to some local residents, Indian Ranch may be out of the concert business.

Fans travel to the venue from throughout New England, but that apparently doesn't mean much to some people.

Come on y'all, it's Country Music. Not Heavy Metal.

Whether you live in New England currently or if you've ever enjoyed Indian Ranch, please help us save this Country Music treasure.

We don't want this place to be a memory the way consider Paragon Park is today.
