Blueberry Bluegrass 2018 Schedule

Donald Teplyske  |  July 3, 2018

Probably Canada's largest and possibly longest-running bluegrass festival (independent verification appears impossible), the Blueberry Bluegrass Festival goes August 3-5 and its schedule has just been released.

I miss the days when Blueberry's headliners-this year Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder (Saturday) and The Travelin' McCourys (Sunday)-stuck around for a couple of the days, played three sets, and became part of the Blueberry community, but now it appears they 'fly-in and fly-out' to present a solitary-if longer-set.

Additional artists do hang out for more than a day, with some appearing on each of the three days. This year, The Po' Ramblin' Boys, Jeff Scroggins & Colorado, and the Kody Norris Show perform daily with others-including Pharis & Jason Romero, Nomad Jones, and the Slocan Ramblers-appearing on two of the three days.

Ticket and camping information, as well as the complete line-up and schedule can be found at Blueberry Bluegrass.

Blueberry Bluegrass is a vibrant and well-operated festival, and it isn't too late to plan your trip to Stony Plain, Alberta. For Americans, the Canadian dollar couldn't be more friendly.

Let me know if you're coming! fervorcoulee@gmail.com I believe I will be there on the Sunday to catch The Travelin' McCourys.
