Pop Singer Jason Mraz Breaks Leann Rimes' Record
Jessica Phillips | August 31, 2009

In the late '90s, at just 15 years old, Leann Rimes released the song that would go on to be the longest-running song on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. Her rendition of "How Do I Live" from the ConAir movie soundtrack dominated radio airwaves for a total of 69 weeks. Her song held the record for nearly 11 years.
That record was broken recently by pop singer Jason Mraz. The 32-year-old Mraz's hippie song "I'm Yours," hit Number 6 on pop radio in May 2008, and has lasted for 71 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Other country crooners are included in the list of longest-running songs, including Carrie Underwood ("Before He Cheats" spent 64 weeks on the charts), and country newcomer Jewel (her hits "Foolish Games" and "You Were Meant For Me" each spent 65 weeks on the charts).
