Kanye West Calls and Apologizes to Taylor Swift

Jessica Phillips  |  September 15, 2009

So, are four apologies from Kanye West enough for Taylor Swift and her legions of fans? For Swift herself, yes. For her fans? We'll see.

By now, everyone knows that Kanye West blogged what seemed to be a semi-apology to Taylor Swift after stealing the spotlight from her at Sunday night's VMA Awards to voice his own opinion of who should have won the trophy for Best Female Video.

Last night, he appeared on The Jay Leno Show, relating that he regretted what he did, and that he wanted to apologize in person. He also mentioned that he may be taking some time off from music to reflect on his personal life.

During Taylor Swift's interview today on The View, Swift said that West had yet to contact her to personally apologize. A rep for The View says that West immediately called Swift to apologize before the interview was even done airing this morning.

"Kanye did call me," Swift told ABC News Radio's Andrea Dressdale in an interview taped after the show. "He was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology." When asked if "going down the road, everything will be all right between you guys," Swift replied, "Yeah, definitely."

It is great to see how Swift is handling this with such humility and class. Spoken like a true young lady of country music. Click here to see Swift's interview on The View:
