Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood Moving to New York?

Jessica Phillips  |  October 20, 2009

Garth Brooks says a move to the Big Apple might be a possibility...in about 5 years. It seems that after Garth's youngest daughter goes to college, Trisha Yearwood has her sights set on a move to New York to pursue some time on Broadway.

'Ms. Yearwood has put aside her dreams of doing Broadway so we can raise our daughters in Oklahoma ,' Garth said. 'I think it's entirely possible that we will live in New York for a year or more so she can pursue what she wants to do.'

Trisha is no stranger to acting, given that she had a recurring role on the television series JAG, and performed at the Broadway Meets Country performance in Nashville. It seems that her country music career may take a backseat for awhile.

'I put in a lot of effort on 'Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love,' but it didn't do as well as I would have liked for it to,' Trisha Yearwood says. 'I'm at a place in my career where I can do some different things, so we'll see what happens. I would like to do an acoustic album, and maybe one of standards. And yes, 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' would be on that one!'

For now, the couple will split their time between Las Vegas and Oklahoma, as Garth prepares for his 5-year gig at the Wynn's Encore Theatre.
