Keith Urban Gets A New (8-year-old) Guitar Player

Jessica Phillips  |  November 10, 2009

If Drake Dixon, the guitar-wielding tot who rocked out in Randy Houser's "Boots On" video, keeps it up he just might reach the guitar hero status of 8-year-old Matthew Pinkham.

At a recent Keith Urban concert, the Aussie guitar god invited Pinkham to join him onstage for a duet midway through Urban's hit, "Kiss A Girl." Pinkham, who hails from Kentucky and was diagnosed with a rare bone disorder at age 4, brought his own pint-sized guitar along to the concert. The youngster climbed onstage, slipped on his guitar, and proceeded to play and sing along as Urban knelt down to his level for most of the song.

Kudos to Keith for inspiring the next generation of country guitarists.
