Jeff Copley

Reviewed by Larry Stephens

Jeff Copley is a country boy hailing from the hills of West Virginia, home to a legion of country music greats. He brings a strong, clear voice to his debut album. The title track will catch your ear the first time you hear it. Definitely one of the top songs of the year while "Out Where God Is" is another strong contender. "She Calls Everybody Baby" is country, baby, pure country, from the message to the beat to the steel guitar and fiddle holding up the back end. This one should be on the air. "Just Beginning To Rain" just shouts, "turn down the lights and get cheek to cheek." Here's another prime candidate for the Top 25. If you don't like this one, then you just don't have a heart. He has a wide variety of material here, with the voice (a little Conway?) and the looks to succeed. If he continues to pick good material, he should go a long way. Run and buy it.
