RCA and the Grand Ole Opry came together to showcase the uplifting gospel music performed regularly at the Opry each year by some of country music's biggest stars. This amazing live compilation features 12 songs, including the work of Alan Jackson, Charlie Daniels, Patty Loveless, Ronnie Milsap, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, Loretta Lynn, Trace Adkins and Sara Evans.
Highlighted by Carrie Underwood singing an outstanding rendition of the title track "How Great Thou Art," this CD captures the purity and humility of today's artists. Many of these artists began by singing these same gospel songs at church every Sunday.
Vince Gill's stirring rendition of "Give Me Jesus" and Brad Paisley's heartfelt "The Old Rugged Cross" are other outstanding highlights.
The Opry has hosted many great gospel moments throughout its history. This is only a small sample of what takes place, but it does a good job of representing the soulful essence of today's top stars.
