Baker & Myers (MCG/Curb, 1995)

Baker & Myers

Reviewed by Richard McVey II

Best known as the writers behind the megahit, "I Swear," Baker & Myers have teamed up to make some music of their own. While they certainly don't stack up to the likes of Brooks & Dunn, they do stand high above most of the industries efforts to produce a strong duo. In fact, this duo may fair better than the Archer/Park's or Turner-Nichols' of the past. With strong songwriting abilities and past experience as performers in their own right, this album should lay the groundwork for the future of their career. Overall, the advent of some great production and songs ("Wide Open," and "Shoulder To Cry On") make for a pleasant and enjoyable debut.
