Welcome back George

It's incredible, but George Strait has not played Houston since 2001. That's all about to change this August when Strait plays Reliant Stadium.

Strait may not be a heavy duty tourer, but he sure hits the road enough that he ought to have hit Houston sometime in the last eight years. It's better later than never anyway for some of the tried and true traditional country music purveyed by Strait.

Strait also is opening up the Cowboys' new stadium this year. The guy is making his mark on Texas.

Let's hope the wait is worth it and that Strait won't make fans wait so long next time.
