Bon Jovi adds country flair to opening NJ venue

Tuesday, October 23, 2007 – Bon Jovi is opening the brand new Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. with a country flair. While the band's last CD was country influenced, 4 of the 10 shows will be opened by bona fide country acts.

The Oct. 28 and 30 shows will be opened by Big & Rich.

Shows on Nov. 1 and 3 will feature Gretchen Wilson as the opener.

CD review - Lost Highway Sure Jon Bon Jovi once sang about gun slinging and tried on the weathered coat of a cowboy back when he was being "shot down in a blaze of glory," but this glam-rock band and perennial hog of the radio waves certainly can't be considered a country act. One wonders what they were trying to pull of with their new record, which features the likes of Big & Rich on the down and dirty bubblegum pop song "We Got it Goin' On" and the token ballad with LeAnn Rimes' ...
