CD reviews for Sideline

CD review - Breaks to the Edge In the year or so since their previous release, the cast of Sideline remains anchored by Skip Cherryholmes (guitar), Steve Dilling (banjo), Jason Moore (bass), Bailey Coe (guitar) and Troy Boone (mandolin), but in the interim Daniel Greeson has replaced Nathan Aldridge on fiddle and, according to the liner notes, Aaron Ramsey has been added as a second mandolin player. Judging by this fifth release, though, there's no evidence of any drop-off in the band's vocal and instrumental prowess. ...
CD review - Front And Center If your bluegrass collection includes discs by IIIrd Tyme Out, Cherryholmes, Mountain Heart and/or James King - or if you've seen any of them perform live - then chances are pretty good that you've come across at least one of the founding trio of bluegrass veterans at the core of Sideline: Steve Dilling (banjo), Skip Cherryholmes (lead guitar) and Jason Moore (bass). CD review - Colors & Crossroads Sideline features three familiar faces for bluegrass lovers. Steve Dilling played banjo for IIIrd Tyme Out for over two decades while his son-in-law, Skip Cherryholmes, played for over a decade with his family in Cherryholmes. Jason Moore started with the late, great James King and has played on more than 100 projects to date. Dilling drives the intro of "You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone" while Nathan Aldridge takes a break on fiddle, and Brad Hudson does the same on Dobro. ...
