Underwood sings to "My Savoir"

Friday, March 26, 2021 – Carrie Underwood gets very person on "My Savior," her first Christian album. The singer told NPR in an emotional interview that when she went into the singing, she was singing for an audience of one. The disc contains such standards as "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art" along with an opening instrumental of "Jesus Loves Me."

Sara Watkins is known for being a member of Nickel Creek with Chris Thile and her brother, Seth, and I'm With Her with Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O'Donovan. She's on her own again on "Under the Pepper Tree," which is geared towards families. The release contains songs that moved Watkins as a kid, including "Eidelweiss" from "The Sound of Music." Watkins' three-old-daughter sings along on part of the song. She closes the 15-song effort with a cover of The Beatles' "Good Night."

"Narrowing The Gap" is Amanda Cook's third full-length album with Mountain Fever Records. She already has released three singles, "Get On Board," West Virginia Coal," and most recently "Lonesome Leaving Train." The Jay, Fla. native, who moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, has previously released "Deep Water" and "Point of No Return."
