Smith wins three Canadian awards
Smith, nominated for five CCMA Awards, took home three, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for "Like a Man," adding to his second consecutive win for Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year presented by Music Canada during Sunday night's CCMA Music Industry Gala Awards.
Marking his return to the CCMA Awards live stage since co-hosting the show in 2019, Smith debuted his brand new single "Hide From A Broken Heart."
Tenille Townes won two trophies, including her third consecutive Female Artist of the Year title. Townes also won Ford F-150 Album of the Year for her debut release "The Lemonade Stand," which features her Gold-certified debut single "Somebody's Daughter" and follow-up "Jersey on the Wall (I'm Just Asking)."
Brett Kissel secured the title of Amazon Music and Alexa's Fans' Choice for his third consecutive year, adding to his earlier win in the PRS Guitars Video of the Year category.
The Reklaws secured a win in the Group or Duo of the Year category, also taking home a win at the CCMA Music Industry Awards for their collaboration track with Dean Brody, which landed the title of Top Selling Canadian Single of the Year.
Robyn Ottolini performed at the awards for the first time and also took home a win for Rising Star. "I'm still shaking," said Ottolini. "What a dream to not only perform but accept an award at the CCMA's last night. I've had an absolute blast watching this show from the nosebleeds for years, and as much as fun that's been, I gotta say being up on stage this year was pretty freakin' special."
