Morris announces tour

Monday, March 7, 2022 – Maren Morris will launch her U.S. headline in June with stops at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, New York's Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Morris will tour behind her upcoming release, "Humble Quest," which drops March 25 on Sony Music Nashville's Columbia Nashville imprint. Morris has shared two singles — "Circles Around This Town " and "Background Music."

Opening acts include Brent Cobb, Joy Oladokun, Natalie Hemby Ruston Kelly and Lone Below.

Morris began writing the songs on "Humble Quest" in the beginning of the pandemic as a series of major life changes unfolded—new motherhood, an upended career and the death of friend and collaborator Michael Busbee. She felt control over life quickly slipping until she had an epiphany—she was never in control in the first place. This inspired her to reckon with the concept of humility as she thought about how the goal of appearing humble puts artists, especially women, in a box with unrealistic demands. "Humble Quest" documents Morris' journey to redefining humility on her own terms instead of appearing authentic to others.

Produced by frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin (Adele, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters), Morris wrote songs with her husband Ryan Hurd, Julia Michaels, Jimmy Robbins, Natalie Hemby, Laura Veltz and Jon Green on Busbee's piano.

CD reviews for Maren Morris

CD review - Humble Quest Seeing Greg Kurstin listed as the producer on Maren Morris' "Humble Quest" album, can't help but raise a few eyebrows. His resume includes the likes of Pink and Sia, but not many country-related artists. Furthermore, it wasn't too long ago that Morris had big hit with "The Middle," a decidedly pop hit single recorded with the Russian-German producer, Zedd. This album's results are not as overtly pop as that recording, but not as country as her country hit "My Church. ...
CD review - GIRL Maren Morris, who had a huge pop hit with "The Middle," is never going to be anybody's ideal traditional country singer. Although, thankfully, there isn't anything that mind-numbingly beat-driven on her "GIRL" album, this is a full-length that will likely appeal as much to Morris' pop fans, as her country followers. The first great song, "A Song For Everything," addresses that mysterious intersection between one's favorite songs and significant life events. ...
CD review - Hero Maren Morris scored a hit out of the box with "My Church," the best of 11 songs on her major label full-length debut. The Texan infuses the song she wrote with uber producer busbee (he's worked with everyone from Keith Urban on "Ripcord" to 5 Seconds of Summer and Shakira and is one of three producers here including Morris) with mighty vocals powering a midtempo, soulful reading extolling the redemptive powers of playing music with the windows rolled down. ...
