Swift announces new disc
Sunday, August 28, 2022 – Taylor Swift announced tonight that she would release a new album in October.
Swift made the announcement during her acceptance speech at the VMA Awards in winning the honor for Best Video for "All Too Well."
"I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21. And I will tell you more at midnight."
This will be the first albums for Swift since she released her well-received indie folk albums "Folklore" and "Evermore" in 2020.
Swift then started re-recording her first six studio albums in an effort to gain control of the her music after a dispute with her label, Big Machine. "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" and "Red (Taylor's Version)," the first two re-recorded albums, dropped in 2021.
