Crockett sets tour

Tuesday, September 6, 2022 – Charley Crockett announced his fall 2022 U.S. tour, hitting New York, Denver, Los Angeles and Nashville.

Crockett's latest album, "The Man From Waco", is out this Friday with the lead single "I'm Just A Clown."

Produced by Bruce Robison (Crockett's manager and an artist/songwriter in his own right), "The Man from Waco" took shape from a series sessions at Robison's studio in Lockhart, Texas. Recorded live to tape, this marks the first time Crockett's longtime band, The Blue Drifters, joined him in the studio from start to finish.

"Most of these songs were cut in a few takes," Crockett said. "There was a looseness that led to a lot of inspired performances that felt good right away."

In addition to the upcoming fall tour, Crockett will headline the Hopscotch Festival on Sept. 8 alongside additional festival headliners Courtney Barnett, Perfume Genius and Kim Gordon and then will open for Willie Nelson at Central Park SummerStage on Sept. 20. Four days later he will make his Farm Aid debut at the 2022 edition in Raleigh, N.C.

Crockett also has a full slate of headlining shows mixed with appearances on the roving Outlaw Music Festival, as well as festival appearances at Bourbon & Beyond, Moon River Festival and Darius Rucker's inaugural Riverfront Revival Festival. CD reviews for Charley Crockett

CD review - Lonesome Drifter Charlie Crockett is far from an overnight sensation. He's a grinder, having issued 14 independent albums before his major breakthrough in 2024, the Grammy-nominated "$10 Cowboy." He is unstoppable now, releasing "Lonesome Drifter," on a major label with acclaimed co-producer Shooter Jennings alongside. These dozen tracks were recorded live in the studio, without many overdubs. Crockett claims he was given the freedom to do it his way. The album is an autobiographical ...
CD review - Visions of Dallas Following closely on the heels of the critically acclaimed "$10 Cowboy," Charley Crockett is back mere months later with another studio collection, "$10 Cowboy Chapter II: Visions of Dallas." Despite the name, this doesn't feel like a sequel. Although they were recorded during the same sessions, the songs from this new collection are a bit removed stylistically. Sure, this is still Crockett's signature blend of Texas-flavored country and blues, but there was a ...
CD review - Lonesome as a Shadow The fourth release from Austin-based singer/songwriter (and descendent of American folk hero Davy Crockett) Charley Crockett is an appealing mix of country, rockabilly and soul. Recorded in Memphis at Sam Phillips Recording Service, the studio Phillips established in 1960 after his Sun years, producer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell) achieves an authentic retro '60s sound throughout. The strongest country tracks are "The Sky's Become Teardrops," which showcases Nathan Fleming on ...
