Peck, Eden, Herndon story receive GLAAD nominations

Thursday, January 19, 2023 – Orville Peck, Brooke Eden and an article on Ty Herndon were the country nominees for GLAAD Media Awards announced today.

Outstanding Music Artist nominees include Peck's "Bronco" disc released on CBS.

Eden was nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist.

Outstanding Print Article nominees included "A Country Music Comeback: Ty Herndon Knows He Should be Dead" by Jason Sheeler in People.

"As a country artist, I aim to reach beyond the norms of our genre and connect the dots between small town living and real life love of all forms," said Eden. "Although there is still more understanding and progress to be made, I'm so proud to see the forward movement in the country music space. The LGBTQ+ community belongs everywhere music is made, and I'm honored to be amongst these icons are are making strides toward a more inclusive world."

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives.

The 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards nominees were published, released or broadcast between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2022. The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies, which fund GLAAD's work to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance, will be held in Los Angeles on March 30, 2023 and in New York City on May 13.
