Porter is "Chasing Tornadoes"

Friday, May 5, 2023 – Canadian native MacKenzie Porter is out today with "Chasing Tornadoes."

"'Chasing Tornadoes' is the first song off of my full-length, debut album with Big Loud," said Porter. "We have so much new music coming, and this is the perfect intro to what the rest of the record feels like. It's such a fun, feel-good song, and I can't wait to play it live."

There was no word on when the debut would be out.

Written by Emily Landis, Jamie Moore and Lainey Wilson, and produced by Joey Moi, the song's lyrics include the lines:
'Cause baby I'm a sidewinder
Storm rider
I'm going down like a telephone wire
You're a mustang runaway
Two lane drifter
I must have a thing for twisters
Hot as Arizona
Cold as Colorado
Trying to catch that feeling like lightning in a bottle
I'm gonna go where the wild wind blows
Tearing up the road
Chasing tornadoes

A video premieres on YouTube Monday at 6 p.m. eastern. The Justin Clough directed clip shot in the streets of Las Vegas sees Porter's disrupting everything in her path alongside her partner in crime.

At next week's ACM Awards, Porter is nominated for Music Event of the Year with six-week, number one, Platinum-certified hit "Thinking 'Bout You" with Dustin Lynch.

Porter is the first female this century to have five number one songs at Canadian country radio, claiming her first crossover Top 10 at Canadian pop radio with "These Days (Remix)" – the first since 2003 for a Canadian country artist. Porter also starred as an actress in sci-fi television series "Travelers."
