Allen accused of rape; label suspends him

Thursday, May 11, 2023 – A former business manager of Jimmie Allen accused him of rape and sexual XX, resulting in the Stoney Creek artist being suspended by his label.

"In light of today's allegations against Jimmie Allen, BBR Music Group has decided to suspend all activity with him, effective immediately," the label said in a statement.

Allen acknowledged having sexual relations with the woman, but said she never complained.

The woman, who is identified as Jane Doe in court filings, said Allen raped her in March 2021 in a Los Angeles hotel room after he was a guest on "American Idol," according to Variety, which broke the story.

The woman said she dined with Allen and music executives after "American Idol." She claimed she had several glasses of white wine and lost consciousness, woke up naked in her hotel room, bleeding from her vagina.

The suit said the woman "realized she had lost her virginity through no choice of her own and felt she had betrayed her faith."

Allen allegedly insisted they go to a drugstore to buy Plan B birth control pill, which she took.

She claimed Allen grabbed her and kissed her forcibly, saying, "You're mine now."

The woman also claimed Allen maintained the sexual harassment by grabbing her breasts and butt, shoving his hands down her pants in public, and "harassing her to engage in sexual conduct."

She also says he "raped her in private while choking her" and "videotaped multiple sexual encounters in order to blackmail her to stay silent."

The woman said she tried to tell her superiors about the incidents, but claimed they did not investigate and said she would be fired if she complained.

By October 2022, the woman said she was depressed and anxious and considered suicide. She asked to be reassigned, but was placed on leave and later fired.

Allen said, "It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever. I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely."

"Only after things ended between us, did she hire a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which leads me to question her motives. The simple fact is, her accusations are not only false, but also extremely damaging. I've worked incredibly hard to build my career, and I intend to mount a vigorous defense to her claims and take all other legal action necessary to protect my reputation."

Allen had been on Carrie Underwood's recent tour. He also recently split with his wife Alexis Gale, who is also pregnant with their third child.

CD review - Tulip Drive Nearly smack dab in the middle of a mostly inconsequential collection of songs, Jimmie Allen hits us with "Habits & Hearts," a truly gripping song about substance abuse. "But habits are harder than hearts to break," Allen reminds us during the chorus. Had he given us 16 more songs like this jaw dropper, "Tulip Drive" could have been a truly great and memorable album. Ah, but he didn't. For some unknown reason, Allen found it necessary to include ...
CD review - Memory Lane Jimmie Allen's "Mercury Lane" is an album of likeable pop-country. Being likeable is always a good thing, but an album of music merely that is not a sonic description that leads directly to a hearty recommendation. The production on the full-length is big, bright - and in a word - pop. Allen may be a country guy, but these 15 songs will never be confused with real country sounds. Lyrically, Allen - who had a hand in writing most of this album - pushes many of the right radio ...
