Alaina gets "Unlocked"

Thursday, June 1, 2023 – Lauren Alaina Lauren Alaina is back with "Unlocked," her first release since signing to Big Loud Records. The six-song EP drops on June 9.

"It's been 13 years since we first met, and until a couple of years ago, I don't know that I ever slowed down for more than a day or two at a time," Alaina said. "I spent more time with the people that matter most to me – my family, my fiancé, my friends – during that period than I had in years. This music comes from my heart and my hometown. I am who I am because of where and who I come from, and I'm more me today than I've ever been. I can't wait to unlock this next chapter with you."

Announced first on her socials this morning, Alaina laid the foundation for the new EP with a minute and four-second teaser, narrating over b-roll footage of her time in the studio creating the music with producer Joey Moi. The release features a song with Lainey Wilson.

The track list is:
A Walk In The Bar (Lauren Alaina, Casey Brown, Lydia Vaughan, Parker Welling)
Hangovers (John Byron, Greylan James, Josh Osborne, Matt Roy)
Don't Judge A Woman (Autumn McEntire, Joybeth Taylor, Sarah Allison Turner)
Smaller The Town (Zach Crowell, Joel Hutsell, Cole Swindell, Hunter Phelps) L
ike Her (Trannie Anderson, Joe Fox, Emily Landis, Ella Langley)
Thicc As Thieves (featuring Lainey Wilson) (Lauren Alaina, Rocky Block, Luke Bryan, Dallas Davidson, Jacob Durrett, Parker Welling)

Alaina, who had been on Mercury Nashville, has released three full-length CDs and four EPs since 2011. Her biggest hit is "The Road Less Traveled."

CD reviews for Lauren Alaina

CD review - Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World Lauren Alaina is flat out delightful. The bubbly Southern belle charmed her way into the genre via American Idol as a 15-year-old high schooler. Randy Jackson stopped her less than three minutes into her audition to put her through to Hollywood. Her third studio album, "Sitting Pretty "On Top of the World" begins with the best song she thinks she's written. "It Was Me" starts with a soft acoustic intro and is an apology and a confession that she should take the ...
CD review - Getting Over Him Lauren Alaina made her national name on American Idol (placing second to Scotty McCreery). But she really seems best fitted for "The X Factor." There's something elusively compelling in how the Georgian's positive, eager attitude shines through, even in small doses. It was on full display when she appeared in a 2020 Thanksgiving halftime concert for the NFL. Alaina was only on stage a minute at most. But she elevated the duet with Kane Brown with those high-octane octaves, then ...
CD review - Getting Good Lauren Alaina's "Getting Good" may not measure up to a traditionalist's high standards, but as a pop-country compromise, it's pretty darn good. Whether it's the fiddle running through the proving-I'm-country "In My Veins," or the banjo underpinning "Somebody Else's Problem," Alaina puts just enough country in these six songs to consistently touch twangy pleasure centers. "Getting Good" is the EP's best song. ...
