Kat and Alex split musically, romantically

Tuesday, July 18, 2023 – The Latino couple Kat and Alex broke up musically and romantically after fo8ur years, they announced via Instagram.

Kat Luna and Alex Georgia (his given name is Garrido, but he uses "Georgia" as his stage name) will continue pursuing music careers. The couple was signed to Sony Nashville and released an EP in 2022 and later a Spanish version of the EP.

"As we were writing this, our hearts are heavy to have to make this announcement," the pair wrote on Instagram. "After 4 years of love and music, we have mutually decided to part ways both musically and romantically. We are so incredibly grateful for the time God has given us together with not only each other, but with y'all."

"We hold nothing but love for each other in our hearts and ask only for your support and understanding throughout this process. Although we will not be doing music together as Kat & Alex, we will still be pursuing our dreams individually as Kat Luna and Alex Georgia. It would mean the world to us to have your continued support on our individual journeys."

Luna and Georgia met after Luna saw Georgia singing at their church in Miami. They appeared on American Idol in 2020, eliminated as a duo, but Georgia continuing on solo.

They later moved to Nashville, releasing their debut single "How Many Times." They tied the knot and later signed with Sony. They made their Opry debut in 2021.
