Twain goes back to Vegas

Tuesday, August 15, 2023 – Shania Twain is going back to Vegas.

The singer announced she would return to Sin City for her third residency starting in May 202 at the 7,000-seat Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Twain will play 24 shows as the Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!.

Twain, who toured the U.S. this summer on the Queen of Me Tour, will play Las Vegas in May, August, September, November and December.

In an interview with Billboard, Twain said, "If you want to change things or you want the show to evolve, it's as if the whole building, the whole theater is my playroom for a while."

"I love that I get consistency that I can build a show that I don't have to worry about moving around. It's a very different approach to the production when you have the luxury of things being maybe a little more fragile and if there are things you couldn't take on the road. It's a controlled environment, no variables you have to worry about — you can get the sound and lights the way you want it. That custom element of the production is a luxury."

The shows will be May 10, 11, 15, 17, 18, 23, 25 and 26, Aug. 23, 24, 29 and 31, Sept. 1, 4, 6 and 7, Nov. 29 and 30 and Dec. 4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, Aug. 21, at 1. p.m. eastern time at Ticketmaster.com. There are various forms of early access starting Aug. 16 to Citi card holders and others.

UP!
When listening to Shania Twain's first album in five years, the listener is faced with making the big decision - blue or green disc. Green supposedly contains 19 country songs. With red, you get the pop version of those same exact songs recorded (international fans get a blue album with Asian sounds). Twain may be generous with the amount of material here, but the overall effect is one of too much music and not enough quality. Yes, there are some country touches and instrumentation, but if you ...
Like a good many country artists in the HNC phase of country, success seems to breed a situation where artists turn their backs on the very genre which spawned them. After the massive success of "The Woman In Me," Shania Twain has strayed very far from country in what is essentially a pop album. Few of the 16 songs are country: the first single, the catchy, uptempo "Love Gets Me Every Time" with its killer three fiddle attack, "You're Still The One," "Honey, I'm Home," (a lousy job blues song, ...
