McBryde, Childers, Russell lead heavy release day
Tyler Childers is out with the EP, "Rustin' in the Rain" on Hickman Holler/RCA. The Kentucky native's career has been on a continual upswing despite not getting airplay on country radio. The first single is "In Your Love." The album also features new renditions of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and S.G. Goodman's "Space and Time" plus guest vocals from Goodman, Margo Price and Erin Rae ("Luke 2:8-10") and Ronnie McCoury, Jason Carter and Alan Bartram of the Travelin' McCourys ("Percheron Mules").
Allison Russell's last album, "Outside Child," garnered her a heap of praise, not to mention a Grammy nominations. Now, the Montreal native released "The Returner" on Fantasy. "The Returner" was written and co-produced by Allison along with dim star (her partner JT Nero and Drew Lindsay) and was recorded in December 2022 at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles. The release features Russell's "Rainbow Coalition" ensemble: Elenna Canlas, Elizabeth Pupo-Walker, Ganessa James, Joy Clark, Kerenza Peacock, Larissa Maestro, Mandy Fer (Sway Wild), Megan Coleman, Meg McCormick , SistaStrings (Chauntee & Monique Ross), Wendy & Lisa (Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman also known as The Revolution) and Wiktoria Bialic.
Steep Canyon Rangers, perhaps best known for their work with Steve Martin," put out "Morning Shift." Produced by Darrell Scott, "Morning Shift" also marks the North Carolina band's maiden studio voyage with Rangers newcomer Aaron Burdett.
Black country singer Reyna Roberts debuts with "Bad Girl Bible: Vol. 1" on EMPIRE Nsshville. This is the first half of her double debut release with the second part due in 2024.
Pat Boone, 89, is not hanging up his singing career just yet. Boone dropped "Country Jubille" on The Gold Label. The 25-track album includes five of Boone's Top 100 country recordings. The song ""Grits" features an ensemble of guest artists, including Ray Stevens, The Gatlin Brothers, Lorrie Morgan, Deborah Allen and Dean Miller.
Jon Langston's "Heart On Ice" came out on 32 Bridge Entertainment/EMI Records Nashville. The Georgia native penned 11 of the album's 14 tracks with production by Jody Stevens, Brad Wagner and Jacob Rice.
Josh Turner put out "Greatest Hits" on MCA Nashville .
