Bryan, Godwin, Millers, Moroney, Underwood, Cobb release new CDs
Charles Wesley Godwin unveils the 19-track "Family Ties," his third album, and first for Big Loud Records, Family Ties. Godwin, who hails from the Zach Bryan school of country and Americana, demo'ed the songs on a Tascam 4-track thanks to his love for Bruce Springsteen's seminal "Nebraska." He then recorded them at Echo Mountain in Asheville, N.C. before he signed a record deal. He recorded the album with his long-time band, the Allegheny High, and long-time producer, Allegheny High guitarist Al Torrence.
Megan Moroney shares the deluxe edition of "Lucky," which came out May 1. "Lucky (Deluxe Edition)," includes three new songs from the Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records artist. Among them are guest spots from fellow Nashville-based singer-songwriters Kameron Marlowe ("Fix You Too") and Mackenzie Carpenter ("Nothin' Crazy"). Kristian Bush of Sugarland fame produced the three new songs along with the origiinal songs on "Lucky."
Carrie Underwood is out with "Denim & Rhinestones (Deluxe Edition)." Co-produced by David Garcia and Underwood, the collection features six new tracks – five brand new songs including "Drunk And Hungover" written by Nicolle Galyon, Hillary Lindsey and Jordan Reynolds, Underwood's current song on country radio "Out Of That Truck," plus a special live version of "She Don't Know," recorded from Underwood's 43-city arena tour, The Denim & Rhinestones Tour.
North Carolina Parmalee also is going the deluxe route with "For You 2," the expanded version of their 2021 release. The 18-song collection includes the current hit "Girl in Mine." Produced by Cobb (his first self-produced album) and recorded at Macon's Capricorn Sound Studios, "Southern Star" is a 10-song release filled with the sounds and stories of his home state of Georgia.
Dustin Lynch is out with his sixth studio disc, "Killed The Cowboy," on Broken Bow Records. The 12 songs includes "Chevrolet," featuring Jelly Roll. Lynch helped write five of the songs.
Buddy and Julie Miller return with "In The Throes" on New West Records. "In The Throes" follows their 2019 "Breakdown on 20th Ave. South," which was the Miller's first album in a decade. The new release merges country, R&B, gospel and blues.
Frank Ray, pays tribute to his Mexican roots with the release of his latest EP, "Raices (Asi Se Hace)."
