Flatland Cavalry produces "Wool"
The song follows the band's new album, "Wandering Star, " which was released last month via Interscope Records, their first release in partnership with the label. The disc was produced by Dwight A. Baker (Josh Abbott Band, Pat Green). In celebration of the release, the band's OurVinyl Session recently debuted, which features stripped down performances of four songs: "Spinnin'," "Don't Have to Do This Like That," "Humble Folks" and "Only Thing At All."
Known for their electric live shows, Flatland Cavalry will continue to tour through next year including upcoming headline shows at Fort Worth's Billy Bob's (two nights), Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, New York's Irving Plaza, Boston's House of Blues, Atlanta's Buckhead Theatre, Athens, Ga.'s' Georgia Theatre (two nights), Minneapolis' The Fillmore, Milwaukee's The Rave and Charlotte, Wisc.'s Coyote Joe's
Based in both Texas and Nashville, Flatland Cavalry is Cordero (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jason Albers (drums, percussion), Jonathan Saenz (bass, background vocals), Reid Dillon (electric guitar), Wesley Hall (fiddle) and Adam Gallegos (piano, organ, keys, mandolin, banjo, acoustic guitar, Wurlitzer, Mellotron).

CD reviews for Flatland Cavalry
Some may argue that Flatland Cavalry is a bit full of themselves by issuing this career retrospective after only 10 years on the circuit. Granted, they have been prolific with six full-length albums, multiple EPs and singles. Record contracts also often specify a certain number of albums in a given time period. "Flatland Forever" contains 25 tracks of classics, demos and unheard until now offerings. Maybe it is just the band reflecting on where they've been and where they are headed. ...
" Wandering Star" is the fourth album from the Lubbock, Texas/Nashville-based sextet, Flatland Calvary who straddle the line between country and alternative country. Frontman and principal songwriter Cleto Cordero (vocals, acoustic guitar) is joined by Jason Albers, Jonathan Saenz, Reid Dillon, Wesley Hall and Adam for these 13 songs, mostly ballads and country anthems, and a couple of harder rockers.
Judging by the lyrics and the thematic content, Cordero seems like the kind of guy ...
The third full-length release from the Lubbock,Texas-based Flatland Cavalry is an appealing mix of alt.-country with influences from the outlaw movement and '90s mainstream country. Frontman Cleto Cordero handles lead vocal duties along with writing or co-writing 13 of the 14 tracks. The opening "Country Is..." has a Merle Haggard feel and examines what defines "country" with such references as "But a steel guitar paints this old heart a shade of Cowboy Blue" ...
