Moroney puts herself on the line with "No Caller ID"
This is the first glimpse of new music for the Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records star since her debut, "Lucky," which featured the 2x Platinum "Tennessee Orange."
Written by Moroney, Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Jessie Jo Dillon, "No Caller ID" further is a post-break-up song.
The song is about receiving a late-night phone call from an ex you're trying to forget. After shedding light on everything she's been through ("I'm two months deep in therapy/Been finally getting sleep/My friends quit checking up on me/'Cause I'm back on my feet"), Moroney builds to a gut-punching chorus delivered with intensity ("Here you come again and there you go/No coincidence, you always know/When I'm moving on, you move back in/With a half-ass 'Sorry, how you been?'"). Moroney achieves a sense of triumph in the song's final moments.
The song was produced by Moroney's frequent collaborator Kristian Bush of Sugarland fame.
Moroney currently has two songs in the Top 30 on country radio: "I'm Not Pretty" and "Can't Break Up Now," her recent collaboration with Old Dominion).
A Georgia native who got her start singing covers with her dad and brother — and later began penning her own songs while studying accounting at the University of Georgia — Moroney made her critically acclaimed full-length debut with 2023's "Lucky."
