Beyonce makes the country charts
The song is at 54 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart as of Feb. 24. The tracking week ended on Thursday.
Beyonce announced during the Super Bowl, following her appearance in a Verizon ad, that she was released a new album and two new songs, "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages."
The former is being promoted at country radio, Columbia Nashville said in an email to radio stations on Wednesday.
At least one radio station in Oklahoma at first refused to play Beyonce, saying they played country artists. The station was inundated with phone calls and emails after a listener, who asked for the song to be played, went public on social media with his email and response from the station when told they would not play her. The station has since changed course.
The Country Airplay survey measures songs' audience impressions on nearly 150 U.S country radio stations as monitored by Mediabase and provided to Billboard by Luminate.
