Carrie Underwood hits the 7 million mark
Thursday, February 7, 2008 – Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts" hit the 7 million mark in sales, resulting in her enjoying the best selling solo female country debut in history. Underwood also has the best selling CD of any American Idol contestant.
Released Nov. 15, 2005, "Some Hearts" amassed a cumulative 27 weeks at number 1 - holding the peak spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart across multiple weeks in 2005, 2006 and 2007. At the end of 2007, "Some Hearts" was the leading country album in sales for the second straight year, making Underwood the first female artist in Billboard history to earn back-to-back honors for Top Country Album.
