Bosko reaches the "Higher Ground"

Friday, March 29, 2024 – After over a decade in the Nashville grind, a series of failed deals and a vocal cord injury, Annie Bosko moved back home to California. She promised herself she would return to Music City when she got a paying gig. In 2022, she was offered a booking and returned to Nashville.

Performing acoustic sol she played a private event where, unbeknownst to her, Vince Gill was in attendance. He offered to collaborate on a song with her, giving her his number for when the right one came along.

Bosko wrote "Higher Ground" with Gill's voice in mind, and the result is a collaboration.

"Sometimes it takes someone else believing in you to make you believe in yourself. I hope this message provides hope for those who are navigating tough times, like it did for me," said Bosko.

Written by Bosko with Tommy Sims, the message of "Higher Ground" is especially poignant this Easter weekend leading into Passover: a time of reflection and rebirth.
These times are heavy
And oh so dark
My world is breaking apart
Lord, won't you lift me
I'm falling down
To Your higher ground
This road keeps stretching
It's been awhile
I can't keep walking one more mile
You can see clearly show me now
To Your higher ground
Higher ground above all the madness
Higher ground safe from the sadness
When I'm weary let my soul be found
On higher ground

"Higher Ground" follows her self-titled EP featuring five songs including lead single "Neon Baby."

CD reviews for Annie Bosko

CD review - Annie Bosko Annie Bosko starts out a little quiet on her five-song EP, but revs up to a rollicking ride down the "Honky Tonk Highway" to close it out. This project may represent a brief trip, but she sure makes for one fun travel partner. Bosko is a fine singer that surrounds herself with undeniably country instrumentation. For instance, out front fiddle spars with the twangy electric guitar on the aforementioned "Honky Tonk Highway." It's a fun song that will sound fantastic on any road trip. ...
