Tritt brings "Country Chapel" to DVD, TV

Monday, April 22, 2024 – Travis Tritt will release his television special and DVD, "Country Chapel," with Gaither Music Group on April 26.

This live gospel concert TV program and DVD, hosted by Rory Feek, features songs from Tritt's debut gospel album, "Country Chapel," with Tritt singing originals and traditional hymns, such as "Why Me" and "The Baptism of Jesse Taylor." "When God Dips His Love in My Heart" features a stage appearance by The Oak Ridge Boys.

Tritt said, "This album is one that I have wanted to make for over 30 years. I'm extremely excited and grateful to have released this collection of songs that take me back to my early roots of singing inspirational songs as a child in church."

A television special featuring performances and interview footage from the filming will premiere on the UPtv television network on April 26 at 2 p.m. eastern with an additional airing on Sunday, April 28, at 10 a.m. eastern.

Produced by Dave Cobb at Georgia May Studio in Savannah, Ga., "Country Chapel" includes traditional songs such as "Waygaring Stranger and "Uncloudy Day" with three songs penned by Tritt.

To review, there once was a time when grunge and hip hop were ascending, and millions of displaced popular music fans turned to its country cousin. Singers like Tritt welcomed the legion of new fans and never once insisted they wear a cowboy hat - he didn't either. From a debut album in 1990 to a (chock full) greatest hits in 1995, Tritt's star shone bright. ...
