Lawrence feels "Pretty Dang Good"

Friday, May 3, 2024 – Tracy Lawrence is out with a new song today, "Pretty Dang Good."

The song is the third taste of his six-track forthcoming EP, Out Here In It, due June 7. A music video of the song alsow as released this morning. Lawrence previously released the title track and "Gulf of Mexico."

"I've never done anything like it," Lawrence said to Whiskey Riff. "I love the opening line, 'Some days you're chicken, some days you're feathers.' It's just so different from anything I ever considered myself doing, but I love the groove of it and it's fun to sing. I haven't done a lot of songs like this throughout my career. I've always been more of a serious artist, heartbreak songs, crying in your beer kind of stuff. So this will be something a little bit different. I love singing it live, it's a really fun song to sing."

Written by Wyatt McCubbin, Bobby Pinson and Carson Chamberlain, "Pretty Dang Good" is the opening track on "Out Here In it."

The track list is:
1. "Pretty Dang Good" (Wyatt McCubbin, Bobby Pinson, Carson Chamberlain)
2. "I Could Use One" (Brent Rupard, Brad Hutsell, Kyle James, Anthony Olympia)
3. "A Cowboy Would" (Jacob Durrett, Ernest Keith Smith, Devin Dawson, Rodney Clawson)
4. "Gulf of Mexico" (Monty Criswell, Derek George, Bubba Strait)
5. "Out Here In It" (Trey Lewis, Lee Thomas Miller, Chris Utley)
6. "Honky Tonk Up" (Monty Criswell, Derek George, Thomas Archer)

Lawrence is on the road on Riley Green's 33-stop Ain't My Last Rodeo Tour throughout the spring. On Saturday, Lawrence will headline the Ryman Auditorium for the very first time to a sold out crowd. Two days later, Lawrence will host his fourth annual Mission:Possible Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament dedicated to raising money for the homeless population in Middle Tennessee and beyond. Next month, Lawrence gears up for the sold-out "Tracy Lawrence and Friends" coming to Ascend Amphitheater for CMA Fest on Saturday, June 8. Lawrence will be joined by tourmate Green, Chris Young, Maddie & Tae, Priscilla Block, RaeLynn and Charles Esten.

At the end of the summer, Lawrence will head to Texas to be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. He already was inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame. Lawrence will perform at the ceremony, which is being held in Carthage, Texas on Aug. 10.

The first installment of Tracy Lawrence's career spanning "Hindsight 2020 is the clever "Stairway to Heaven Highway to Hell." He celebrates 30 years in the industry with this three-volume project. Each album features new material and choice cuts from his back catalog. Volume 1 leads off with the title track, a rowdy Texas two stepper that would have been perfect for the "Urban Cowboy" soundtrack. CD review - Headlights, Taillights and Radios After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Tracy Lawrence has resurfaced with his 13th studio album. Released on his own label, "Headlights, Taillights and Radios" is an 11-track radio friendly album that is polished with a contemporary gloss. As always, the melodies are simple, the hooks infectious and the voice unmistakable. The single Footprints On The Moon is country's answer to Train's Drops Of Jupiter.
