"Born Lonely," Stell finally plans debut disc

Friday, May 10, 2024 – Matt Stell finally will release his debut label album, "Born Lonely," via RECORDS Nashville on June 7.

"I couldn't be prouder of 'Born Lonely'," said Stell. "When I started writing these songs, I decided to tell the truth – the good, the bad, the fun, the sad, all of it – and see what happened. It turned into the best batch of songs I've ever recorded."

Stell previously released three independent albums, four EPs and a live disc.

Stell enjoyed success out of the gate with 2X PLATINUM "Prayed For You" and PLATINUM "Everywhere But On" – as his first two releases. Last year, he released the EP, "Lone of Us."

"Born Lonely" features 10 tracks all co-written by Stell. "Breakin' in Boots," the autobiographical title and "Take the Girl" have all been released. Joe Fox and Chris DeStefano produced the disc.

The lead-off track, "Built By Broken Hearts," is out today. Co-written by Stell with Seth Alley and James McNair, it traces an adolescence spent bouncing between parents, and the resulting fallout of a time-hardened tough guy coming to terms with his lingering emotional scars.
