Strait likes "The Little Things"

Friday, June 14, 2024 – George Strait shared more new music from his forthcoming 31st studio record "Cowboys And Dreamers" with "The Little Things."

Written by Strait along with Monty Criswell and Bubba Strait, and produced by Strait with Chuck Ainlay and Tony Brown, "The Little Things" finds the Texas native reflecting on the often overlooked moments in a busy, hectic life and finding happiness in the little things whether it is a kiss on the dance floor, homemade ice cream, a phone call with mom or a baby that needs to be rocked to sleep.

Lyrics include:
The secret to life, hey we all wanna find it
But the more I look, the more that I'm reminded
What we want is always right there hiding
In all the little things

The follow-up to "Honky Tonk Time Machine," Strait's 27th number one Billboard Country album, "Cowboys And Dreamers" is out Sept. 6 and will feature 13 new songs, including "Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame" featuring Chris Stapleton along with his own rendition of Waylon Jennings' "Waymore's Blues."

Strait's concert calendar is:
June 15 Kyle Field College Station, TX
June 29 Rice-Eccles Stadium Salt Lake City, UT
July 13 Ford Field Detroit, MI
July 20 Soldier Field Chicago, IL
Dec. 7 Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas, NV

CD review - Cowboys and Dreamers There's nothing more dependable than a new George Strait album. He's been cranking them out for decades, and even after officially retiring from major touring a decade ago, Strait has continued to record and release a new album occasionally. This is his first since 2019, but it sounds exactly like almost every other one, which, in his case, isn't really a bad thing. Strait's friendship and collaborative relationship with Chris Stapleton continues here, with Stapleton guesting ...
CD review - Honky Tonk Time Machine At this stage of his nearly four-decades-long career, George Strait sure knows his sweet spot. Take a look at the cover of his 30th studio album, and it's understood that it's the honky tonks that are part and parcel of the tall Texan. Not to mention the title. And that means, Strait is going to be singing about drinking, loving and faith in styles ranging from honky tonk to straight ahead country to Tex-Mex stylings to ballads. You're also going to hear fiddle and pedal steel ...
CD review - Cold Beer Conversation recording front. This surprise release shows an artist now in his early 60s completely capable of being the leading voice for his brand of country music, which is increasingly rare these days. Strait always has enjoyed a voice that resonates and is dexterous depending on the style. And the Texan sticks with the types of styles that brought him to the top - traditional country ("Let It Go," "Goin' Goin' Gone"), Texas swing ("It Takes All Kinds") and Zydeco ...
