Green signs with RECORDS Nashville

Friday, July 26, 2024 – RECORDS Nashville signed singer-songwriter Drew Green to RECORDS Nashville, the boutique outpost of industry veteran Barry Weiss' label RECORDS.

The signing follows Green's most recent indie-release, "Lotta Bit Of You." Green's first single for the label, "Town Drunk," is available today on all digital platforms. Green is also prepping his next release – "Colorado," which will be a collaboration with HARDY and will lead into a project release early in the fall.

Green previously had been on Sony Music Nashville where he released two EPs.

"We are thrilled to welcome the gifted singer-songwriter Drew Green to the RECORDS Nashville family," said RECORDS CEO/Founder Barry Weiss. "Green writes from the heart and his songs have truly resonated with fans and artists alike. We are excited to work together to further expand his career and songwriting canon, and to deliver wonderful new music for fans to enjoy."

"I'm more than excited to get to work with RECORDS and Columbia," added Green. "I can't thank the fans enough for the love on 'Lotta Bit Of You,' which is what got us here. I know a lot of people have been asking about an album, and now with this team we will be able to deliver just that and more. I've been writing like crazy and can't wait to get some of this new music out."

With his genre-bending country, pop, and R&B style, Green first garnered attention as a songwriter with his 2020 tracks, "Little More Be Alright' and "She Got That." Both cuts appeared on his debut EP, "Dirt Boy Vol. 1." His 2021 follow-up, "Dirt Boy Vol. 2." He followed with the soulful R&B stand-alone single, "Good Ol' Man" - which was recently certified RIAA Gold.

Born in McMinnville, Tenn., Green grew up on a tree farm where his family introduced him to country artists like Sammy Kershaw and Alan Jackson. During his teens he listened to hip-hop, pop and R&B performers, including Usher, Craig David, Matchbox Twenty and Dr. Dre. He played in bands in high school and continued to hone his songwriting skills at college. Following his graduation, Green based himself in Nashville, singing in the house band at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and working a day job at a bank, all the while pursuing a songwriting career.

He eventually gained a foothold in the industry, co-penning songs like Florida Georgia Line's "Colorado" with HARDY and Hunter Phelps. In November 2018, he signed a publishing contract with Brett James' Cornman Music, and a subsequent deal with Villa40/Sony Music Nashville.
